Book: Ajaib By Syafiq Aizat

On Saturday's late evening, I just had this feeling on trying with new book. A novel. I got it when I went to PBAKL 2024 on 1st June. Yea, early this month. But decided to start reading it last Saturday. This one comes in a box set - AJAIB Universe, by Buku FIXI, the publisher. With another 5 books, sequels to this one, Ajaib. Before that, I'm an artist who's drawing, illustrate. Highlighting that all my comment on this book, novel just from a view of an artist, and a blogger, a reader - not from language field specifically. So my apologies if there's mess up with my English and the comment or review for this one.. AJAIB, the title. To me, at first, I got this vibes of not a horror or thriller on this. But more like "glittering-magical" kind of vibe. And I don't even know the author, until few days before I decided to go to PBAKL 2024, where he played with another FIXI's box set that I commissioned for the covers of another best selling author of FIXI.

Gardening: After Months

Today I decided to go for gardening and landscaping.. What I means is, I did my maintenance for areas that needed to. Most areas are ones that family walk by. To me, these areas just, well, me - will do it anyway. For today, as the weather is very good, and it's Sunday. I said to myself, why not do it? If not, other day won't be like today.. Most of days these days, can be raining. So can say this maintenance needs to do for almost every day. But at my age? I decided to do it 1 to 2 times per week. I chopped off this Belimbing Buluh young branches. Before it will get bigger and stronger for me, better of it all.. If not, I'll be needing to use my machete, which was broken last time when I was working with my bap for clearing up all these.. Snapped this Spider Lily. One from all lilies that I planted back in 2021/22... It all still flowering. Just the area needs a maintenance. And I'm planning to do it tomorrow, if the day is good.. Have many things to cover lately..

Some Thoughts: Studio Corner

On April, I got down on something that happened at near end of March. Excuse the mess. It's not a studio without some mess, isn't it? As I'm taking my time, back off from my usual self, I just feel like, the need to moved on with what had happened. True is, it was hard one... I talked to a friend, and my lil sis. I don't know what happened but I started to feel much better. And it somehow gave me this kind of energy. Where I started to feel like, I need to do something with my studio corner. Which is, small. Really... But I think it's the best one. I have this feeling. To be a charismatic artist kind. Well, trying. I still feel like I'm a small traditional artist, that still trying... Trying with my art. My style and my way. Since that's all I know when come to myself. Else, crafting. Yes, I made handmade accessories. Well, can't wait to get back to it, after July! I decided to redo my studio, by setting up my "walls". A divider..? It's a p

Book: Komedi Orang Minyak By Farahin W

This is the first book review and first "Book" section for this blog. Few books I did was on my old WordPress blog. Might move them all in here soon. Today, I finally finished my first book I got from PBAKL 2024, on 1st June, weeks ago. So... I just going to put this from a view of a blogger and someone who read. As an visual artist, I guess? Not a critique either (I'm not a fans with those that deliver it in a downgrading tone). And excuse my bad English, I know but just write? Anyway, let's. First of all, the author is a cool person. Funny at the same time. Believe me. And this is her first debut. And when I know about it, I said "I need to get this on my hand!". Komedi Orang Minyak by Farahin W, published under Rocky Press - this is actually my second book from the publisher. And Komedi Orang Minyak is a collective of short stories. Usually I'll be doing early review, but I think that's just suitable for a novel, which one book, one storyline, and

Some Thoughts: Preferred Reading Genres

Growing up I'm so into anime. Most on top of my life, my answer will be Digimon and CardCaptor Sakura. At teenage, I think I started to like something fantasy yet beautiful in landscape and the visual. Like Japanese or Chinese garden. Or secret garden like, with cottage and wooden fence, with flowers around. Still remember I, I even bought many garden magazines, sharing this one with my ma. She loves gardening. As I grew older, I found myself not many changes when come to my genre choices. Be it when come to movies or books. Before books, I always prefer to go for movies. Meaning, if I know the movie is adapted from novels, or the novel already in motion picture - I just go for the movie. Such as the Divergent franchise, The Maze Runner franchise, Harry Potter franchise, and such. And true is, I started to notice my liking in genre when come to movies. My interest in movies back then and up until seems like never change. Movie Starship Troopers, RoboCop franchise, Termi
